In the Middle Ages, Spain was amidst a war trying to regain control over the Moors in what was known as the Reconquista, This was lead by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of who's marriage was the impetus for Spain's Golden Age. Ruling a united Spain, Ferdinand and Isabella sparked many reforms.
